Period 8

Period 8 - Chris Crutcher What I liked most about this book was the cursing. Totally realistic. High school kids don't talk like saints! So Period 8 was refreshing in this aspect. So, this bunch of kids meet during period 8 with the guidance of a counselor to discuss whatever issues they have. The only rule is to always tell the truth. Then a girl, Mary, goes missing and things about Mary (also known as Virgin Mary because she doesn't have sex) come up. Like, the total control freak that her father is.The story covers cheating in a very realistic setting too. Sometimes you cheat because you want to, other times it happens and you don't even know how or why. I liked that.I also liked the cunning of Stack but I can't say more without giving the story away.Paul, the main character, keeps it real at all times. He is realistic and call things what they are, as in, let's rebound. The most interesting character was Virgin Mary, I wonder if another book could be written based on her?
